EDGAR WILLIAM BROWN, JR. (1894-1976), "Mr. Edgar", was a native and lifelong resident of Orange, Texas and a grandson of Henry Jacob Lutcher (1836-1912), a native of Williamsport PA, one of the wealthiest lumbermen in the reconstructive era of the Anti-Bellum United States. Henry Jacob Lutcher’s daughters, Merriam Melissa Lutcher (1859-1936) married W. H. Stark, and Carrie Luna Lutcher (1861-1941) in 1888 married E. W. Brown, MD. E. W. “Doc” Brown (1859) died in 1917 survived by wife and two sons, E. W. Brown, Jr. and H. (Henry) Lutcher Brown (1896-1970), and his niece Brownie Babette Moore (1911-1984).  E. W. Brown, Jr. married Gladys May Slade on July 23, 1915 and to whom were born four sons: E. W. Brown, III (1918-1988), John Shillard Brown (1921-2009), Lutcher Slade Brown (1922-1991) and Charles Ebert Brown (1926-1985). After proceedings in administration of his estate, the Management Agreement of E. W. Brown, Jr. Properties was incepted in 1982 and amended in 1992.


     The incumbent December 31, 2007 Amended and Restated Management Agreement of E. W. Brown, Jr. Properties is the administrative vehicle for business affairs of the descendants of E. W. Brown, Jr.  


Fee and mineral/royalty properties are owned in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
